Dor Beach (Tantura)
Picturesque beach with rocky coves that create breakwaters and small pools, plus an island within walking distance from the beach. Beach with seascapes among the most beautiful in Israel. Some of the coves are used as harbors for fisherman in small boats, others are official bathing beaches or picnic destinations for nature hikers. The southern area of the beach has an ancient ruin that is used by the fisherman as a meeting place. A visit to the beach can be combined with a stroll along the nearby trails and visits to the coves to collect seashells and enjoy the view of the Carmel mountains and the ruins of the ancient port, Dor.
The best beach for a family outing. Dor Beach is an official bathing beach, with washrooms, changing rooms, drinking water taps, beach showers, gazebos, lifeguard services and a kiosk with cold drinks, ice cream and snacks. The beach is near Moshav Dor.
