This restaurant hosts a unique social initiative for at-risk youth, and is an amazing combination of breathtaking nature, a tantalizing menu and impeccable service. Together these help teenagers who have dropped out of the education system believe in themselves and their ability to build a career in the restaurant sector

The Mata’im project includes training teenagers to become restaurant cooks. The project, under the auspices of ELEM – Youth in Distress, provides training and employment to about 15 teens each year, in a program that lasts up to a year and a half.‏
The caring professional staff in the restaurant’s kitchen and dining room works with a team of social workers to guide the teens through the culinary skills training program.‏

This training provides them with a desirable profession and for the first time in their lives equips them with tools to become contributing members of society and good citizens.‏

The teenagers are treated like regular employees, receiving full wages for their work at the restaurant, in exchange for their commitment to work at the same standards as the other employees, and to participate in the training program that will put them on the path to success.
