The Gideonim Tourism Association
The “Wine Route” is a project initiated at the end of the 20th century by the late Yishai Shibovsky who headed the municipal council of the Moshava at the time. He also initiated the Gideonim tourism NGO in 1989, and worked to brand Zichron Yaakov as a touristic Moshava. The goal, set by the founders’ offsprings and local residents who responded to this initiative, was to preserve the chronicles, and teach the history of the Moshava future generations.‏
The NGO is an information center regarding businesses and establishments in the moshava, such as accommodation, food and drink, and culture. Information and suggestions for recomended hiking trails are available at the association’s offices, located in the center of the pedestrian street, near the Binyamin Pool.‏

The Gideonim NGO also maintains the activities of the Yad La-Meisadim Museum, located at the beginning of the Wine Route (Ha-Meisadim Stree.)‏

The association markets day-trip tours to individuals and organized groups, guided by experienced guides from the Moshava. The stories they can share, are not written in any history book as they pass down the generations among the locals.‏
Tours, lectures, meetings, and other activities are also organized for Zichron Yaakov’s school kids and any size groups of local communities. Activities, in the spirit of the place, such as “Mishut baMoshave” (wandering around the Moshava,) and Jane’s Walks, are just two examples.‏
